Featured poet in the inaugural season of Poems in Passage: the nonprofit public art initiative to place poetry in public spaces around Canada.
Awarded Arts Research & Creation funding to develop a written and spoken word project exploring Black contributions to classical music.
Won the Rio international Poetry Slam at FLUPP (Festa Literária das Periferias), a celebrated literary festival held annually in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Travelled across India leading performances, workshops, and community outreach with emerging poets.
Recognized by the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word for significant contributions to the Canadian spoken word community.
Won the 2014 edition of the World Poetry Slam Championship in Paris, France, while representing Canada.
Work featured in The Great Black North (winner of the 2014 Robert Kroetsch Poetry Award), Letters to a Future Church, and Poetas do Mundo.
Won the inaugural Canadian Individual Poetry Slam title in 2011 — and remains the only poet to ever win it twice, repeating in 2013.
